  1. How do you qualify for the preferred rider rating?

  2. My two cents worth on bands, how about Sammy Hagar and the Waborita's or his new venture Chickenfoot.

  3. On the preferred mail outs...it says "for those who bought tickets in 2009"....are those of us who bought tickets before 09 (say 08and before) still on the preferred mail out list?

  4. How about gettin Walter Trout playin at the redwood? Coco Montoyo? Tommy Castro would be great too....just a thought.

  5. how about The Black Rebel Motorcycle Club ??? seen them live and their a kick ass band

  6. Have you considered Indigenous for 2010 music? (Pretty hard to top the Allman Bros. and Joe Bonamasa show a few years back.) Excited to see Kenny Wayne is coming!! -- Thanks, Leopard.

  7. Music line up is looking good, but what about getting "The Doobie Brothers" back again, also LAdy smith last year was great too. Can't wait for this years run.

  8. HEY ALL....IMPORTANT INFO:

The Preferred Rider letters and order forms are being mailed out on Wed. Sorry for the delay!

Please watch your mail for a new format ( a full color glossy) with order form inside. There's a special for all you loyal Run supporters...but don't delay getting it back to us. You'll see what I mean when you read it. And we have another surprize...you'll see in your letter.

Regular presales tickets will go on sale this month. The ticket office will open in the middle of March and exact dates and times will be posted. Online ticket sales will be available this year too. Preferred riders who bought tickets in 09, you'll be able to order right away using your order forms.

Updating the site will be a priority...we want to make up for lost time in getting information to you! So while that's happening, we'll only be able to answer your questions a couple of times a week.

    THANKS FOR ALL YOUR SUGGESTIONS!

Check out the new 2010 Music Page...Its shaping up to be another hot rockin' show!

Please keep your suggestions coming....we love to hear from all of you and we're not done with the line-up yet.

Here's a couple of answers to your music questions.

Steve Miller..We'd love to have him, too. But he's too high-priced for a $130 ticket.

Elvin Bishop has been on our minds, too. We'll see....

    Thanks again

    Sciandra

  9. Will there be parking on the hill agian?or road parking only or not?

  10. So when are the tickets going on sale???? last year this time had form mailed back.

  11. I love everything about the Redwood Run...........How terrrific it would be to have Hank Williams III his music is so crazy.

  12. Had a few more ideas for music choices just in case you are still shopping around...I've seen Charlie Musselwhite playing a couple places over the last couple years.. he was awesome at the Norton Buffalo tribute and during a 2008 gig at the Maritime Academy (small venue) he rocked the place. I think that he would be perfect for the Redwood Run!!

Someone suggested Jeff Beck which would be awesome too. As for trying to please the younger folks at the run...I recall standing next to some youngsters near the stage when Dave Mason was playing and having them comment at how great it was to watch the legends play a perfect show! Do you think Steve Miller would charge too much to play the Run? Did you call Elvin Bishop yet? Thanks for hearing me!

  13. Anxious to receive the rider packages.....even more anxious to see the music schedule!! I was a little disappointed with last year's line up. Let's get back to having some of the old favorite bands back to rock the run like Foreigner, Elvin Bishop. I really enjoyed the Ty Curtis Band last year. I understand you are bringing them back. Who else is coming?

  14. Hello, The house of Floyd(Pink floyd tribute band) always puts on a good show. Im friends with a band called The devil himself out of Santa cruz. Theyre really good. They have a myspace site if your interested. Just a thought. Looking for an update on 2010 entertaiment postings. Whens the next update.

  15. For music suggestion, Jo anna Connor has always made a good showing . Nothing like good Chicago Blues. This run is the only one left that worth a shit.

    Dale

  16. Steve

We thought about the Thurs thing and yeah, it all would happen only earlier. We're trying to think of some other things that might help though.

Ya know it used to be a lot easier booking the entertainment....great BLUES and ROCK!! Now we're trying to please several different generations( maybe age groups is more descriptive.

Anyway, we agree with getting music for the younger crowd....but who and what? ' we need suggestions and not off the top of the charts big budget stuff. Chances are if everyone knows the music, then it'll be really high dollar.

We're trying to keep the price of the ticket as low as is possible and meet high expectations. We can't compete with big concert venues way up here in the mountains.

GIVE US YOUR MUSIC SUGGESTIONS.....ON THE FORUM PAGE, PLEASE. There's too much to do to go hunting through the guestbook for them. Thanks for understanding.

  17. HEY, DAVE

I haven't met hardly any of the original Redwood Run HD Riders....love to ask you some questions, if you're up to it.

Please send an email by way of the contacts page.

And agree about yur accessment of the pins.

    Thanks

    Sciandra

  18. THIS IS THE BEST RUN EVER. THIS YEAR WILL BE 33 YEARS IN A ROW FOR ME . AND LET ME TELL YOU THERE HAVE BEEN A LOT OF CHANGES OVER THE YEARS. THE FIRST YEAR I WAS THERE IT WAS AT MYERS FLAT. YOU THINK THE TOILETS WERE BAD IN 09 YOU DONT KNOW WHAT BAD IS. ONE THEN WE WENT TO FRENCHES CAMP IT WAS A LOT BIGER AND BETER. THE ONE THING YOU SHOULD DO IS KEEP THE RUN PINS THE SAME FOR AT LEAST 5 YEARS. THE BEST PINS WERE FROM 1978 TO 1987 88 89 90 91. THEN WE GET TO 1992 THE WORST EVER 2000 ANOTHER SHIT ONE O9 WERE GETTING REAL CHEEP AGAIN. IF WE HAVE TO PAY $100.00 PLUS FOR A TICKET. YOU SHOULD PAY MORE THEN.25 CENTS FOR PINS. SO IM LOOKING FORWARD TO WHAT YOU HAVE IN MIND FOR THIS YEAR. BUT ALL AND ALL YOU PUT ON THE BEST RUN OF ALL TIME. IT IS THE LAST OF THE OLD SCHOOL RUNS. I ROAD A RIDGE FOR THE FIRST 18 YEARS A THREE WHEELER FOR 6 YEARS AND THE LAST 9 YEARS ON A SOFTAIL. AND ILL SEE YOU SOON.

  19. Great time every time, have been going about every other year for about 15 years. Would like to see: different games, barrel push, carb or tire toss, honda bash, just to name a few. There are many more just can think of others right now. No burn out contest until the wet T shirt contest is finsihed. Like the idea of 2 age groups, I might go 21-30 and 30+. toilets were a noticibly worse in 09 than other years, far from the worst several years ago. maybe go the weekend after fathers day weekend. a little warmer, and a little less chance of rain. do not understand all the motor homes trailering a bike to bike run, ride the damm thing.

Geat music, keep up the great work. I know you put in lots of hard and long hours.

  20. WHAT A FANTASTIC TIME. This will be yr. #4 in attendance. been wanting to come for years but my male firend wouldn't take me and I don't know to many chick riders. bought my own bike a 06, 883 sportster and I've been going since. 09 was a bit colder but still great. making new friend every year. can't wait till june... I love the idea of making it a week long event with early camping and we make our own fun until friday . I would pay more just to be around bikers and water... I think you should maybe look into having water rentals (canoes,inner-tubes etc.) less to carry on the bike ,food and a bar closer. maybe clear out the rocks a bit for an even walkway to and at the waters edge.. playing in the water naked is my favorite on a hot day.. see about getting a cheaper tatoo artist out there . I just want something tiny every year I go, but I don't like the $100.00 min. fee. does anyone know anyone in garbervile that is cheaper than the guy at the run. see you all soon ,xoxo Ana

  21. Redwood run is the perfect way to spend a weekend in the humbolt area!!! Cant wait always one of the best party's of the year..

  22. Howdy all

My compliments for putting on the best damn run on the west coast.

It's a family gathering of 4 or 5000 I see every year. Been going since I found you in 1992. 1st time was me and 2 buddies with just sleeping bags. Now it's a Herd with wives, girlfeinds, and maybe one of the kids or another RR Newbie. And enough camping stuff and logistics for a safari. We get to the area on Thursday to get up at 4am for that spot in line on Friday morning to get "that same camp site". Still love it though.

Making it a longer event or just allowing camping a day ealier will just lead to the same manuevers a day earlier. It will always come down to being as far up the line as you can be when the gates open. No matter what time or day you pick.

We do need new blood at this rendevous. Younger organizers, volunteers, acts, attendees, should be corrupted, er encouraged. and brought in with us. They are a must as this goes forward. We're all not getting any younger and the next biker generation doesn't show in great numbers yet. Bring the over 21 kids and their friends. Add in some "newer" music for them. Sell or pass on your old bikes to a kid.

  23. Holy S__T! Batman....where did the last 6 months go? I

Anyway....we're back online and ready to give you updates for Redwood Run 2010 as well as giving it more features like buying tickets online etc. In the next few weeks the address will be changed to redwoodrun.com making this the only official Redwood Run site. No more confusion and everyone comes here.

Many apologies for the long absence ....we had to pick up the pieces of the other parts of our lives, have fun and ride, too!

So here's to A HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEARS !

Use a designated driver now so we can see you in June.

PS will be asking for your great photos and art ideas soon.

  24. Still 8 months to go and I cant wait to ramp up for the party. Like you said Debra, So much fun , so little time.

  25. I was looking forward to having this site up so we could get updates and keep up with what is going on.. but I guess something has happened???!!!

  26. 2009 was another great year. I have been coming for the last 8 years, and it is by far the best run of the year. I moved to Arizona about 3 years ago from N. Calif. and I find a way to make it back each year. Great Job!! Keep up the good work. But do consider a 2 age group wet t-shirt contest. You will get a great response from the older women. I am sure. Thanks

  27. So what was up with the parking on the hill?no more road side parking thurs.nite?and what about the pin,s &lack of patiches?over all things were good, looking foword to 2010 Redwood Run...................

  28. I was really hoping to see some Collector's Items by now. Will they be up soon?

  29. Just getting back from some R&R....thanks for all the suggestions!

Didn't mean that you all caused us extra stress on Thurs!!! In fact....we commend you all for your TOTAL COOPERATION and understanding!! Everyone was fantastic and what could have been chaotic went smoothly and courteously. THANKS TO ALL OF YOU!!!

Part of what I said was kind of making in fun of the situation...but we will take you up on your offers (Lucky, Debra etc.) especially when we start really getting into working on 2010. Right now we are still winding up '09.

When we start having meetings for next year...I'll bring up adding Thurs for camping inside the site. Don't know how it will be received but like you said its almost the same thing accept you won't have to move again.

Please let me know what other kinds of information you would like to see on the website. As promised, the T-shirt order form will be up this week.

  30. I agree with Ray, 26 hours of ride time and two nights in a motel is a lot for a 2 -day rally (even if it is one of the BEST rallies going, and I wouldn't miss it if I had to go twice as far). But I hear you on how much more work it would be to add extra full blown rally days. I do like the idea of extra camping nights though, either with no entertainment, or local regional bands. The question of how much more one would pay for either extra camping nights or a longer rally is a good one...no one knows where the economy will be next year. I for one would pay double for the ticket if the true rally was twice as long. I would also pay an additional $30 or so per night for the additional camp only nights. I don't see it being that much different than the camping you had in the upper parking area this year on Thursday, except we would pay for the convenience of not having to tear down to move inside on Friday.

As for bringing the attendance up next year, I can really help you with the promotion of the event, just let me know. (you know how to reach me).

Like Ray and the others, these are just suggestions we would like to see to make things a little better. The RedWood Run is still the BEST rally in the west and in the very top of the entire country. Thanks for all of the hard work by everyone there to keep it that way.

    ~Lucky

  31. Hey Ray

I've brought up the idea before to include Thurs as part of the official Redwood Run weekend...but the idea was shot down immediately! Everyone is beat after dealing with two official days, and Thurs is probably one of the most stressful ones, especially this year with Cal Trans demanding no parking/camping along Rte 271.

Just out of curiosity....let say it was Thurs- Sun. Thurs being a ride -in /set up day width maybe just a couple of regional acts or would that be another headliner night? What would you be willing to pay? With the economy the way it stands now....I don't know if people could pay more, do you?

This year unfortunately, attendance was a lot lower than it has been it at least 10 yrs. Advance ticket sales were less than last year but what hurt sales at the gate( I think) ... was the weather forecast of rain all weekend...even though it didn't rain.

We estimated attendance was about 4,000 at most; not including volunteers, MMA and staff.

This hurts the Redwood Run as prices keep going up for everything that we have to pay out; showers, toilets, sound, stage, lighting, law enforcement ( charged for Thurs night) etc and especially entertainment.

I would probably say that we would need an infusion of experienced -energetic-young people to join longtimeorganizers to get it to be a week -long event. Us, old-school organizers, don't have the energy any more to pull off a whole week of you hard- partying bikers :-) and sometimes prima dona musical headliners! LOL, if you know what I mean. Just for the record though, all the hard work is worth it when Friday evening roles around...the music begins and everyone is having a great time!

Thanks ....we'll take your suggestion as the ultimate compliment!

  32. Hi Debra

The login appears to be working now, but I know that the features on the forum ( like back to indext etc ) aren't working. Is that the login that you are referring to?

    Thanks for letting me know.

  33. Hey Monitor,

Is there something wrong with the Log In? I have tryed a couple of times, but it doesn't seem to be working.

  34. Another great year. Wish it was warmer, not a lot of river action as last year. But music was 10 times better. Can't wait till next year. I liked the new pin but it is different.

Only suggestion I have is the West Coast doesn't have a week long rally and the Redwood Run could be it. When you come from long distance it makes it really short to get in on Friday morning and pack up Sunday morning. I understand it would cost more for entertainment and such but we are all bikers and I would pay more. Compared to Sturgis a week long camping ticket is $300.

Maybe you guys could think about opening the camping up a couple days earlier and the crowd could make their own party. Just a though but this would be the perfect venue for a longer rally. No complaints though!

    See ya next year,

    Ray

  35. This is Margie; Got home Tues. evening. stopped over in Ukiah - saw Charlie Musselwhite. Just now getting rested.

I had a great time. Luved the music. I was front and center Sat. night. I had a bit of a hard time due to a pinched nerve and my right leg in a lot of pain; the hills were a great workout; managed that mountain (I called it, Mtn. Goat Hill) once - brought my cane.

Everyone was helpful and friendly. People pretty much got along. A lot of friendly people, having a good time. We camped at Chimney Flats. Showers were hot, and women's line moved fast and smoothly. Beautiful bikes - I really did have an awesome time. Just wished the sound system was working better when LOS LONELY BOYS came out; but I luv them so much, I was jumping (bad leg and all) and singing. Everyone around me were "watching my back" that no one get in front of Margie or push me out of the way. Much appreciation.

Bar b que was great; drinks, food, MMA people helping out and shuttle service was more than I hoped for. One thing I wished was that I could catch a ride up and down those hills to pit etc on 4 wheeler once in a while (since my leg was a problem).

You all put a lot, lots of work into this run. It was very well organized. I am glad I went, very memorable adventure.

Thanks for an awesome weekend. MARGIE

  36. Just wanted to say thinks to all the put on yet another great Redwood Run. Already counting the days until the 2010 Rally. It just don't get no better than this. See you in about a year.

    Respects,

    Russ & Sweet Cindy Lou

  37. Tells you how hung over I was , I thought it was Tue when I wrote this but it was Mon. I seemed to have lost or gained a day there somewhere. Dont know for sure as it is Thu and I am just comming out of my coma. Pin quality or party quality ? I was there to PARTY and the party was great.

  38. I thought the Ty Curtis Band was the highlight of the music schedule. I really hope they are back next year. It is great that the Redwood Run can find and feature new talent. I was a little disappointed in the headliners this year so it was awesome to see such great young performers on stage.

    FuFuGirl

  39. Well as always it was a great time, both of the newbies had a blast & said they are sure to come every year from now on. The boob show was awsome, music great although it could have been louder, weather was perfect , not too hot & not to cold. Can't wait for next year, Any chance of getting the Doobie brothers back ??

  40. Hey Margie

I thought about you a lot over the weekend...how did it go?

Hope you had an outrageous time and will bring your friends with you next year!

  41. Hi John

You are right!! The pin sucked!! I'm so disappointed in the quality..... I originally requested pewter pins, like we've had the past 7 runs ( before that we were doing hard cloisonne). His suggestion was that it would look great in color done this way and for some reason was really pushing the idea.

I know this is partly my fault for letting someone change my mind and not trusting my own gut feeling. I guess too many things going at the same time. I won't elaborate any more...you know the rest of the story.

Please accept our apologies( especially mine). Its always been our aim to raise the level of quality concerning the Redwood Run; not lower it.

    Sciandra

  42. It's over and I too am still hung.

I wanted to make the comment that this years run pin SUCKED. In all the 20years I have attended I have been so proud to wear my pin, not this year. I am counting on the same great quality & design for 2010. See you then.

  43. Hey John, sounds like we were at the same party, I am still hung over on Tuesday morning too. So much fun, so little time.

    Debra

  44. Went to the Run.It Was AWESOME,OBSCENE,FOR REAL,MUSIC WAS LOUD,ENTERTAINING,THE CROWD WAS FULLY INTO ( the crowd ), AND THE MUSIC ROCKED,THE BIKES "WOW" IT WAS ALL OUT A AWESOME WEEKEND...THANK YOU ALL THAT MAKE THE RUN POSSIBLE -" "/ CANT WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR .RIDE SAFE, ROCK ON, GOD BLESS....Ronette

  45. It is now Tue moning , the event is over , I am still hung over and cant wait for Redwood Run 2010. Am ready to buy my 2010 ticket today and start all over again. As usual it was a great time with great music , weather , boobs , beer , and burnouts. The only thing I could ask for is to make this one day longer.

  46. Any Foghogs around? I miss the group and wish everyone well.

I'm sitting on the porch here in Ukiah listening to sweet sound of Harley traffic heading south on 101 hoping all will be safe heading home.

Missed my DMV reg in 2006 (did a lot of out-of-state-travelling). Now they want almost $700 to register. Seems a bit on the steep and ridiculous side so for the time being my bike will languish under cover in an undisclosed location. Painful it is...

Oh my, am I sorry to have missed Lita Ford!!!!! I'd dress her frets and oil her fingerboard, set her intonation and adjust her truss rod anyday!!!

    Brian

  47. A # 1 Fan of Bloodstone,Eager listener of George Thorogood.Rock ON,Ride Fast,Smile Daily. What better way to bring on the summer..... See you at the show.... Ronette Humboldt County

  48. All Packed & ready to go takin off in an hour, can't wait bringing 2 nebies with me, after all I have told them I hope this year lives up to the reputation. See ya all there

    As Far as the boob contest I think 2 groups 21-35 & 35 & up ,

  49. Hey, boob link not working again. I am with everyone else. Age groups make total sense.

3 days and counting... this is my 7th year and I look forward to this each and every year! I tell so many stories after, I have grown our little group from co-workers and friends wanting to come with me to a BIG group!

Best way to start the summer....ever! Party starts the minute you leave home!

  50. This is Margie, again. I am getting things together and plan on being there.

Thanks for info. on meeting up with friends. They said they usually camp near "The Pit"?? near stage.

It sounds like we don't bring much food in, really no place to cook. can buy food at the Food COurt. Trying to see where I can cut back on what to bring. A toothbrush, change of clothes, and tent - and sleeping bag = and a warm coat (I was told, it get s cold at night.

    Will check out your map.

    From Over the hill, Margie.

  51. Hey Jerry.....Cant wait to see you !!!!!

    Love Ya So Cal Girl

To all those who haven't been yet......You dont know what your missing....

  52. Hey,

I just wanted to comment on the ?? about will call. When you pull up to the front gate, all bikers must get off their bikes to exchange tickets for wristbands, at that point, you can't miss it is the will call trailer, that's where you get your ticket/wristband. So it's all in one place pretty much, you won't hold anyone up.

Also, I like the idea of the 2 age groups for the wet t-shirt contest. This is funny how important this is to everyone. I guess that is the meaning behind "Real Old School Biker Party". Well if that it, then here we are.

Old, young, & everybody else, JUST COME ALREADY!!!!!!! You'll love it. But if you do plan on sleeping I suggest an aid. Or just party really hard like eveyone else.

Can't wait!!!! I am praying for hot dry weather though.

  53. Hey Margie, The Redwood Run is THE place us older folks CAN and DO have fun. Hell I can't even see the hill anymore when I look back!!!

  54. Hey Margie

Don't flake out on us....a lot of us are "over-the-hill"!! Yeah, even some of our performers...

Anyway, to answer your question... if you are meeting them at the run, exchange your cell #'s, some cell service works well, while some doesn't come in at all. US Cellular works great. They can let you know where they are. Then shuttle down.

If you are getting to the run at the same time....have them come back up to the shuttle stop (in the parking lot ) and tell you or better yet....have one of your friends ride the air- conditioned shuttle down with you.

Its not that hard to navigate around the Riverview Ranch but to make it easier I'm going to post a map with a link to it on the info page.

    Hope that helps

    S

  55. just wanted to say that last year was my first time to the RWR and i am counting the days till i am out of here (kansas).without a doubt, you have the right plan on the number of people ya allow in.well maintained and a total blast.see ya in a few days. bugsy...............

  56. One or two wet t-shirt contests?!

I love you guys, ya'll know what is really important, huh!!...Not a worry in the world there! RWR forever, can't wait to go again this year. I'm still talking about last years party!

  57. Monitor, re. reply to my post of 5-14-09.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I recently have almost decided not to go, because family thinks it will be too wild and hard for me. I am over the hill, but still luv the music and have fun. Especially looking forward to the music lineup you have this year.

Of course the boys, as we call them, (LosLonelyBoys) and Bloodstone, Greg Rollie, and all. Some friends are riding their bikes up. Should I wait outside gate until I know where they camp so I know where to have shuttle drop me off??

I'll vote on the wet T-shirt contest. I think it would be a good idea to have at least two age groups.

Will let you know how it goes for me, my first biker run. Thanks for encouragement.

Margie - S.F. East Bay Area

  58. I think the voting form is working again, try it out again!

    Sorry about that.

  59. First of all, I couln't vote on the T-Shirt contest because the "Vote Here" form would not accept data. I votte in agreement on this isue, I am a male, and this is my 6th Redwood run. Keep up the good work!

    CaoDaiOne@Comcast.net

  60. Hi Tony

That's a great idea and probably is more of an issue than natural vs enhanced. The 21- 35 contest ( not 18, REMEMBER....NO MINORS! or ABC could shut us down) might be stock and custom combined. It would get rid of the question of how to determine if they are real or not and the masters class or division. Only one contest is like comparing oranges to apples....not fair to the older gals that are still "put together" but not as put together as they used to be to compete with the younger ones.

Thanks for your post. You can find other topics to post to on the Forum, so hope to hear from you again.

  61. I don't know if this is the place to give my 2 cents on the wet T-Shirt contest. I don't feel it is a fake vs real issue as much as an age issue. The older women don't feel they can compete with the young ones. I feel there should be 2 different catagories. A group of 18-35 or whatever and an age group of 35 and older. The older women will not compete with the young girls, and why should they, everyone knows the young will win. There are alot of older women that would feel a whole lot better going up against their own age. (or at least close) not 30 years apart. I feel this has been an issue for the past several years. Last years turn out was not good. This is my 9th year and I still love this run. It is the best, but I think the wet-t shirt contest could be a lot better. Thanks Tony.

  62. Hi Kim

Good question... the answer will be posted sometime tomorrow( SAT May 23.) The gals in the office are doing a great job but are fairly new at giving out answers like that. I've never gone through the gate using will call so I don't know either. Maybe a veteran Redwood Runner can answer that.

FOR FUTURE QUESTI0NS, OPINIONS AND DISCUSSIONS, PLEASE USE THE COMMUNITY BOARD OR THE FORUM.

Posting by subject will make it much easier for us or another member to give an answer or make a comment. Can we use the guestbook for signing in and leaving feedback on the new website.?

Give me suggestions if that doesn't work for you and help me out... I'm trying to stay organised and its really busy now that the run is just around the corner.

I know that it sometimes isn't easy getting questions answered and we close the office and almost disappear for several months after the Run is over. Hopefully these pages will bridge the gap some. Sometimes its important to ask you all questions to make sure the Redwood Run is going in the directions that you want it to.We can't make everyone happy but we really try.... this sounds corny but "give the people what they want " is sort of like a mantra around here!

    Really appreciate it.

Oh, yea, sorry we can't promise that every question will get answered these next few weeks, but we'll try.

    Thanks

    S

  63. I've been going to redwood since the days that Harley-Davidson actually sponsored it in Richardsons Grove. It seems as though thru the years that alot of advantages have been given to the ladies that have been enhanced a bit. Let's face it guys there are alot of great chests out there and we should see both sides of the coin. I personally love the "natural" ones but there are alot of the very nicely enhanced versions that are also quite attractive. I agree that we need to have the two contests, and just as was stated by someone else, it will bring in additional charitable dollars. I have to unfortunately disagree with that person that he be the first to be the "pitcher holder", due to the fact that this run only happens once a year and the additional charitable dollars will be lost for a year, and in this economy at present time, I'm sure that the charities involved could sure use the aditional financial assistance created by this GREAT EVENT. I truly look forward every year to enjoying a great week-end with folks that we see every year in our same camping area and all others involved with this great run.....

    See Ya There.......

  64. Hey all ,

  65. Lucky,

Thanks for the heads up on anything that's not working or doesn't look right on this site. . I've been involved with the redwoodrun.com site since its beginning but I don't know how to make changes on it. This one is my pet project, so let me know whenever it needs something.

Mike, ("the man that's been keeping .com as up to date as much as I provided the info") glad you checked in so hope you approve so far.

  66. Digging the new site, still looking around. See you all at the rally, we'll be riding up with those Cyclefish folks.

  67. Thanks for the link!!!

I agree George is ROCK. What a great choice...one of the best old school rockers for the BEST old school biker party!

  68. Done! Thanks too for the suggestions Keep us posted on what else does or doesn't work here ...I'll do all that I can but the real focus is getting ready for June 12th!! ....what an awesome party this is going to be.!!!

If you liked George last time he was here....his show is going to be even better! Did you know that the Redwood Run is the first biker event to have George Thorogood play?

Hope to be doing the blast mail-outs soon.

    Thanks!

  69. Thanks Lucky!

You're right CycleFish is a great Friend and we don't want to piss them off< smile>. I'm getting their link up asap.

And I'll make sure the link is working ;-)

  70. ADMIN

I believe the people that have ordered their tickets and received them will not come back to the site. Do you have peoples email address and a way to mass mail them? They need to be informed that there is a vote going on at your site and to participate!!

    Thanks,

    Matt "Jokester" Callan

  71. Monitor, OK, ADMIN!

I believe that you need a statment on the first page that lets people know there is a vote going on. Not everyone will go to the Guest book or take the time to look around. I bet that it would help if you had a spot on the first page to let them know that a vote is ongoing and what it is all about.

  72. Regarding the wet t-shirt contest. I agree that a lot of participants have fake boobs, but there are a lot of natural boobs just as big. One suggestion, other than the Fake & Real contests, may be to have a seperate wet t-shirt contest for Itty Bitty Titties. The existing contest for anyone with larger than a C cup and the new contest for the A,B & C cups. The girls with the natural big boobs should be able to compete with the fake ones.

  73. Great job...Love the new site.

I have been trying to submit a link using the form on your links page and it does not seem to be working...just hangs up?

Here is what I am trying to sumbit...

    Site: CycleFish.com

    URL: http://www.cyclefish.com

    Desc:

CycleFish.com is a biker network and resource. We have one of the largest motorcycle event calendars on the internet, and plenty of other resourses for bikers. You can also join to make new friends, upload photo albums, and chat in our forums.

CycleFish is a GREAT friend of the Redwood Run.

  74. monitor 2009.5.18 08:37

I'm getting ready to kick start our members forum but it needs a name. Think of it as a kind of "happy hour" ....a place to get a cold one and hang with your friends after work.

There's a couple of pool tables and great music on the box. Yeah, I can see it, it reminds me of a little saloon up in the mountains where I used to tend bar. There were always new jokes to tell and the pool table was only a quarter. Ok, I'm drifting off....but I need some help with a name, so any suggestions?

I'm going to add some features that will let you upload your RWR photos to share with members. Like, did you ever wonder who's in one of your photos? Upload it and I bet you'll get a quick answer. Each week we'll take the best photos and add them to a members scrapbook.

    This new website is being designed with some important things in mind;

1- to get out updated info about the Redwood Run

2- as a venue of communication for us...

*you have questions, we hope we have answers :-)

*we have questions, we hope you have answers

*as a place to keep friends connected between Redwood Runs

3- to be able to order tickets online any time....at your convenience.

4- to purchase Redwood Run souvenirs online any time ( they make great gifts )

and MOST IMPORTANT....For you to let us know what you like or don't like about YOUR Redwood Run ( we've always said that we listen to our riders because that really is what it takes to make the run better or to keep it from going bad. Kind of like a balancing act...we'll take your suggestions and see if we can impliment them within the guidelines of county regulations and the natural law of the land. Nature bats last!

Thanks Debra on her thoughts about "How important is it to keep the Redwood Run tradition alive?" nicely put.... hold that thought and start a thread at the Members Place.

    Take Care

Monitor(this is stupid but whenever I see the word "Monitor" I think of a monitor lizard or the old lady lunch room monitor....right, go smoke another one :-)

I need a new moniker(sp?)....even admin would have been better.

  75. " How important is it to keep the Redwood Run tradition alive?"

    Thanks

    Monitor

Ok Monitor, this is my opinion. I believe that the Redwood Run Tradition is more than important, it is a way of life. Ride to live, Live to Ride. The Redwood Run is the last of the real biker runs. The rest of the runs are fun but are more of a place to eat and spend money.

No where else can you go and be free to "play" without the man right there to stop the fun.

There is a feeling of being a part of something. Something that has nothing to do with the everyday work and mundane crap that we have to go thru to make a living and support our houses, cars and everything else. Not that I don't enjoy life and live it to the best of my ability, but there is just a specialness to the weekend that we spend in the mountains, under the stars, with outhouses and line to get booze and food that is more than a tradition, it is a way of life.

We have the chance to meet people who are just like us and just want to have a great time, listen to good music and make new friends and see old one.

Thanks Monitor for the great new site for us to get together and chat about the run.. keep up the good work!!!

  76. And how would we do these two contests? Would it be voluntary by way of an honor system? I don't think we can go around groping the contestants to know "natural or customized"? ( though I know some would like to :-)

Not much voting happening, just a couple votes in... so unless we see some voting action we'll assume that it really ain't that important.

Do you think we should put up a blog page so readers can see topics of interest, such as this one? Because I have a question....

" How important is it to keep the Redwood Run tradition alive?"

    Thanks

    Monitor

  77. Monitor

Yes! Voting is a much better way to go. At the time I wrote that comment, I didn't know that you had a way for people to vote on your new site. That will work just fine. Also, a very special lady by the name of Sussie is the one that talked to me first about this issue, I will have to giver her the most credit being that she was the one that headed me in the right direction to ask these questions. It was really Sussie's Idea, I just picked up her ball and ran with it, and this is where her idea ended up. Thanks to Sussie and Kat, this is where their idea is today.

Many thanks to Sussie and Kat for bringing this idea up to me.

    Thanks,

    Matt "Jokester" Callan

  78. "Cudos" to Matt "Jokester" Callan for standing up for Natural Women. Ours may not be perfect, but they are all Natural.

You just have to hand it to a man that in the midst of boobs everywhere, he finds a way to see even more.

  79. MATT'S LETTER

    Matt "Jokester" Callan 2009.5.14 05:37

This is in honer of KAT!

Last year I noticed allot of the ladies that used to be in the Wet T-Shirt Contest standing in the croud and watching in place of being in it. Being that I knew a few of them I asked what was wrong! And did I get an ear full as to why!

SO! if this takes place this year or next, this is how it got started. All of you owe this change to a very special lady I know by the name of KAT. She is the one that I talked to and she was the most honist about it all that I put together in this letter and sent it to the board of the Redwood Run. ......and express your opinion about this issue, especially if you are a natural girl!

Here is the letter to the board that KAT encouraged me to write: ENJOY!

To the Board: Look, this is getting very serious!

I continuously hear allot of the ladies complaining about the ones with fake boobs getting in the wet t-shirt contest, and they always WIN! This has caused allot of the ladies that have won in the past with their natural boobs to stop joining your wet t-shirt contest. We are missing out on a LARGER and better contest by not having more ladies in this show. The ladies are getting very upset because they want to get up there, put on a show, and show themselves off to the men.Last year, I thought about this issue very hard, but I didn't have someone to talk to or to place an email. I would like to see TWO wet t-shirt contests. One for the plastic boobs, and call it; "The First Annual Redwood Run Custom Wet T-shirt Contest"; and the ones with the natural boobs, call it; "The First Annual Redwood Run Stock Wet T-shirt Contest". This will give you TWO fund raisers by having TWO men bidding on the water pitcher in place of just the one. This would be a great advertising first and would draw allot more ladies and men that would come as a first timer, or come back to the run. However, if you do accept this idea, I would like to host the first Stock contest by being the first water pitcher pourer for the first Stock Redwood Run Wet T-shirt Contest. I have talked to many ladies and I told them that I will bring this up and see if I can't get the boards attention, and get these great ladies back onto that stage and put on another great show.

    Thanks,

  80. To Matt:

The office is pretty busy getting ready for the Redwood Run so calling Shelley now would be counter productive....But I've got an idea.

What about a survey of it, and we'll take the results to the powers -that -be aka "The Board". How's that?

There would need to be a time limit on each contest, though, if it did happen because there is a stage schedule that must be followed.

But I feel its a valid issue for the ladies to be pissed about....great idea, let's see how people vote!

  81. FOR MARGIE
