Add me and my group to the long liist of people that were wondering what we were going to do when the BEST Biker Rally in the WORLD folded up the tent (pun intended). We couldn't be more happy to hear that the event will continue for at least another year. We will all be there in 2011 and will bring as many as we can to help support the rally.

I had such a great time at the run this year! it was only my second time going and I had an amazing time! I have lived in Humboldt my whole life and every year I look forward to seeing all the bikes come through. I love to listen to the Harley's. I love the great crowd that comes to the run. I really really hope this year was not the last year..... What would summer time be without the REDWOOD RUN?

So glad to hear the run is on for 2011. It will be my 25th year attending the Redwood Run! Not sure what my lady and I could do to help but let me know if we can.

Due to all the letters and phone calls that have come in the Redwood Run will be back at the Riverview Ranch in 2011!!! There have been so many offers to help out that new plans are in the works to re-distribute the work load.
Please check back for updates toward the end of July.
Thanks again to all of you who help make this event the best biker party!!!

hi, my name is amber. i have never attended the run, only because i have never had the opportunity. i would like to make a suggestion though. i have heard that the run is in trouble and this may be the last year all together. i am currently writing an article on the runs final year, and that is how i stumbled upon this site. i was thinking the other day, why don't all of you get together and donate or raise donations for the run. it may not be as good as previous years but it would still be going and at least the heart of the run would still be there. i mean there may not be entertainment the first time, but i am willing to guess that you all ride for the joy, love and freedom of the ride. i am sure there is enough bikers that come from all around to attend in the first place so if you all band together in a sense and join forces to save the run, you might just inspire others around to save it too. i know the southern humboldt community could use the boost in moral, and if they see people banding together they may be willing to help as well. any way thank you for your time, if anyone would like to contact me, i would be greatful to be kept in the loop as to what the verdict is and if this does inspire anyone and this does help keep the run going i would love to write a piece on the runs continuance.

Best run ever and I have been to all of them on the west coast and Sturgis as well as Laughlin. No comparison period. Doug and Shandra you guys have been doing a great job putting on this event and it will be greatly missed. I am one of the beer guys from Lagunitas brewing. (I fixed your beer box a couple of years ago) Thank you for the experience that this run has provided me. Mike

This was my 4th year going to the Redwood Run and wanted to say "Thank You" for all your hard work. I truly enjoyed every aspect, the ride through the Redwoods, the entertainment, the location and the people. I'm sorry to hear this was the last one. Hope there will be more in the future. If you do have decide to have it next year. I know a band that would be intersted in playing. Jackyl would bring in alot of people. They are a well know kick ass bunch of bikers themselves and they rock!
Long Live the Redwood Run,
Denise

Well this was my first run and sad to hear it may be the last. The talk all weekend was "i hope they keep this going". Everyone I talked to said this is the best run all year long and i do have to agree. I had a great time, I had the pleasure of meeting the most amazing people and also got thte chance to work with them at the C, Morgan Booth. I traveled all the way from IDAHO and have to say it was deff worth it! Best of luck to everyone esp Doug. Hopefully everyone can get together and help spread the resps around so we can have another great year for 2011.

Thank you for another great Redwood Run and I hope many more are to come. This year was my 6th and it was kind of quiet and not quite the same sort of party as people were not quite sure if we were at a party or a funeral. It took me a while to get going but after a couple of buds and downing a couple of Sierra Nevadas the party was on. Everyone I was with had a blast , the weather was great , the music Rocked , and even the pin was pretty cool. No complaints here and I am looking to my 7th Redwood Run next year and am ready to lay down my money now for next years ticket.

Had a great time, great ride, and don't know what to do with myself next year if it doesn't happen again. We make the trip from the mojave desert every year and have made a bunch of friends to include the owners of the Western Village Inn (Willits) and the chinese restaurant down the street and those crazy guys from Salinas. The location is great and the folks that work there were excellent. Hope you guys reconsider but I understand if you don't. I will miss all the Redwood regulars. At any rate, Many Many Many THANKS

Please reconsider keeping the Redwood Run rolling. It is still the best biker event on the West Coast. But in my opinion the best event period! So many believe so as well. Yes,,production costs are high and the economy is low. Most couples could not afford close to 280.00 for the entry costs. Attendance counts were low this year..but if you reduced your entry fee (comparable to other events) those numbers would greatly increase and you'd have your production costs met perhaps. As it was clear this year that you are not lacking in space, but attendance....just a thought.

Headin out tomorrow morning with 4 of my best troops to support all the Vets. When you see the colors at attention, blowing in the wind...just remember those colors dont run!

Looks like a good time. I have friend attending and sad to hear that ths will be the last as I would certainly like to attend in the future. Show organizers, take a month off and reconsider. I am sure you could find a few scribes around the camp up to being mentored as to what it takes to pull off an event like this.
TO ALL - have fun, be safe, and if you can't be safe, be careful.

Bummin to hear this may be the last redwood run. I usually don't miss this event and this year...well,..... I'm missing it....and now I hear it may be the last one?! My favorite run of the year............always looked forward to it.! Thanks for the crazy/fun times! ~~Kristin~~

The bike is loaded and I have my head right for another trip to the Best Run I Have Ever Attended Period. I am heading out to meet with friends for the night before party and a short run to the gates in the morning. Will be ready to party hard till the wee hours and pack as much fun into 72 hours as possible. I hope this will not truely be the last RR but just a short regrouping while the economy and everyone gets back on their feet again.
Thank You For The Best Run In NorCal.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU
COREY, HEATHER, AND NICHOL and all of our families....Dad and I (and the Redwood Run) couldn't have made it this far without your emotional support and hard work all these years either. We are truly blessed to have you in our lives and at the Redwood Run each year. Riverview Productions is pretty much a family run business too :-)
Good vibes and thinking positive is so true....you never know what the future might bring.
I really hope that it morphs into something that keeps the Redwood Run spirit alive too!

Please pass the word to your friends....This is going to be the last Redwood Run for a while or for good. Its hard to say. But after 20+yrs with the Redwood Run, we need something a lot less stressful!
With the poor economy, unpredictable weather, rising production costs and all the governmental bruhaha its a wonder we made it out these last few years. So the time is here.....come out for one last hurrah and make this the Ultimate Biker Party to remember.
We've had the priviledge of booking incredible bands, meeting all kinds of people and making a whole lot of friends.
We're proud to have kept this awesome biker tradition/fundraising event alive!! In 1991, Cal Trans and the CHP made it mandatory to move the Run from French's Camp. It was Doug McCauley and the help of a local real estate agent that found the Redwood Run's new home at the Riverview Ranch. That's not such a big deal until you hear that there was only 3 months til the next Run. Kiwanis of the Redwoods worked non-stop to get the property ready....there weren't any roads or camping areas, no waterlines. Nada!
We are sorry we couldn't have given everyone more notice....but we did issue a warning that the Run was in trouble. At this time, we don't know if or when the Redwood Run will be back. PLEASE COME OUT TO CELEBRATE 33 GLORIOUS YEARS OF BIKER TRADITION.
So until next time around, RIDE ON, and RIDE SAFE
Sciandra and Doug

PS....please check back for updates.

Good vibs from all I read. I've been to lots of rallies over the last 15 years, but the Rwd Run is the best. Stay open and friendly, and you will make friends. Get shitty, and you will get thumped. Just like real life, folks. I wasn't going to go this year, but was just down that stretch of highway and bikes are already coming up. I live not far away, so the ride is very familiar, but always, always awesome and appreciated. My bike is now show-quality, for the first time, and I intend to enter it on Saturday. No matter how it goes, it will be fun, fun, fun till your Daddy takes the T-Bird away . . . .

Have hope guysâ¦. show the support that will encourage the tradition to occur. Although the news may be that the event is not going to be, hold on to the thought that the event could possibly still live on. I believe that there could still be a Northern California event. If nothing else, remember that the reason the event is the caliber that it is, is because the event is âUSâ. All of you, the riders, the families, the friends and the support people are all part of this tradition and uniquely we are all involved.

Hi
I think that parking is charged by how many spaces your vehicle takes up...ie. Car/truck-$20 per day, truck w/trailer-$40 per day, RV -$40 per day etc.
I'll post on FAQ page.
Thanks for the question.

Nothing like the Redwood Run to clear out the winter cobwebbs and piping! I missed the event last year as my brother came back from three years in Iraq and that was the only thing that kept me away! Miss all you people whom come to this event regularly and make us Alaskan's fee right at home..... Rock-on, Ride Free, & Often!

Howdy from Tacoma;
Been commin since before the run was moved to July and then back to June. I think it's good that you brought back the bike give-away--hopefully that will help the attendance issue. The music was kick-ass last year as it usually is although it seems a little thin this year but won't keep me or my posse from attending. Joe Bonamassa (the new king of blues) would be a gate buster for you guys if you could swing it but I know he is too expensive now. The R. W. Run is the kick off for the riding season for us up here and will always be there for you.

To FTW Mike
Let me explain about the preferred rider letters this year....we went automated as far as mailing them out this year. We usually do it manually by applying labels and licking the envelopes ( just kidding). Because of some staff health issues, we were behind and short of staff. So our printers did the mailing for us. A big time saver but we weren't able to sort names like we usually do.
Everyone that has bought tickets in the last 5 years should have gotten an order form.
I will upload a PDF of it for anyone who is still waiting. Next year we will start up as we usually do....first will be a rider appreciation in Dec, 2010. Then preferred rider letters will go out in Jan, 2011 and tickets will go on sale after that for everyone else around Feb 15th.
To get on our preferred rider list all you need to do is buy a ticket....your name is automatically added to the list. FYI...we update the preferred rider list from time to time and if someone hasn't bought a ticket in a few years their name is removed.
Or enter your name on our home page and will get it added. Many who join the list don't receive emails so that will keep you from getting our digital newsletters that will be starting up soon.
Thanks!

Just wanted to say that my boys and I were there last year. We had the time of our lives and will be back this year, new blood to the event!
One of my boys just got done with a 15 month stent in the sand box. After breaking down camp we hit the road through the redwoods to trinity county to see gma and gpa. My paratrooper lost his wallet outside of some NICE ladies tent!
She was a saint and called as he was trying to workout how to sneak back into the barraks without an I.D. ,,,
Thanks lady !
See ya in a bit ,,, who ever is picken will be ass kicken !!!

I was reading in the forum under music at the run by a guy named Eagleye who says he can get Frank Marino! Great Guitarist! He'd be a great addition. He will definately rock the run. Please get him if you can.
Oh yeah, I still haven't received my preferred riders letter. Every year I get a postcard, but nothing this year.

Well all I have to say is last year was the shit. Hope this year is the same

Like someone else suggested - Hank Williams III would be so incredible to have at Redwood Run. The Black Keys, if they're not too pricey, and Bob Wayne & The Outlaw Carnies would definately go over well.

I am Sooooooo bummed. Can't make it this year. The first in 6 years of attending. But sometimes in life one has other important venues to attend as well. I will look forward to next year for sure. Party hard for me ya'll.

The music and everyone was totally wonderful last year, which was my first
year to attend. I live in Mendocino county and have wanted to go this festival
for many years. Thank you for a great time. I will see you again this year!!
Hello to Dennis, a perfect gentleman and great company.

How do you qualify for the preferred rider rating?
(Posted on 2010-03-10 03:27:00 by ) -
My two cents worth on bands, how about Sammy Hagar and the Waborita's or his new venture Chickenfoot.

On the preferred mail outs...it says "for those who bought tickets in 2009"....are those of us who bought tickets before 09 (say 08and before) still on the preferred mail out list?

Have you considered Indigenous for 2010 music? (Pretty hard to top the Allman Bros. and Joe Bonamasa show a few years back.) Excited to see Kenny Wayne is coming!! -- Thanks, Leopard.

HEY ALL....IMPORTANT INFO:
The Preferred Rider letters and order forms are being mailed out on Wed. Sorry for the delay!
Please watch your mail for a new format ( a full color glossy) with order form inside. There's a special for all you loyal Run supporters...but don't delay getting it back to us. You'll see what I mean when you read it. And we have another surprize...you'll see in your letter.
Regular presales tickets will go on sale this month. The ticket office will open in the middle of March and exact dates and times will be posted. Online ticket sales will be available this year too. Preferred riders who bought tickets in 09, you'll be able to order right away using your order forms.
Updating the site will be a priority...we want to make up for lost time in getting information to you! So while that's happening, we'll only be able to answer your questions a couple of times a week.
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR SUGGESTIONS!
Check out the new 2010 Music Page...Its shaping up to be another hot rockin' show!
Please keep your suggestions coming....we love to hear from all of you and we're not done with the line-up yet.
Here's a couple of answers to your music questions.
Steve Miller..We'd love to have him, too. But he's too high-priced for a $130 ticket.
Elvin Bishop has been on our minds, too. We'll see....
Thanks again

I love everything about the Redwood Run...........How terrrific it would be to have Hank Williams III his music is so crazy.

Had a few more ideas for music choices just in case you are still shopping around...I've seen Charlie Musselwhite playing a couple places over the last couple years.. he was awesome at the Norton Buffalo tribute and during a 2008 gig at the Maritime Academy (small venue) he rocked the place. I think that he would be perfect for the Redwood Run!!
Someone suggested Jeff Beck which would be awesome too. As for trying to please the younger folks at the run...I recall standing next to some youngsters near the stage when Dave Mason was playing and having them comment at how great it was to watch the legends play a perfect show! Do you think Steve Miller would charge too much to play the Run? Did you call Elvin Bishop yet? Thanks for hearing me!

Anxious to receive the rider packages.....even more anxious to see the music schedule!! I was a little disappointed with last year's line up. Let's get back to having some of the old favorite bands back to rock the run like Foreigner, Elvin Bishop. I really enjoyed the Ty Curtis Band last year. I understand you are bringing them back. Who else is coming?
(Posted on 2010-02-23 05:13:00 by ) -
Hello, The house of Floyd(Pink floyd tribute band) always puts on a good show. Im friends with a band called The devil himself out of Santa cruz. Theyre really good. They have a myspace site if your interested. Just a thought. Looking for an update on 2010 entertaiment postings. Whens the next update.

For music suggestion, Jo anna Connor has always made a good showing . Nothing like good Chicago Blues. This run is the only one left that worth a shit.

Steve
We thought about the Thurs thing and yeah, it all would happen only earlier. We're trying to think of some other things that might help though.
Ya know it used to be a lot easier booking the entertainment....great BLUES and ROCK!! Now we're trying to please several different generations( maybe age groups is more descriptive.
Anyway, we agree with getting music for the younger crowd....but who and what? ' we need suggestions and not off the top of the charts big budget stuff. Chances are if everyone knows the music, then it'll be really high dollar.
We're trying to keep the price of the ticket as low as is possible and meet high expectations. We can't compete with big concert venues way up here in the mountains.
GIVE US YOUR MUSIC SUGGESTIONS.....ON THE FORUM PAGE, PLEASE. There's too much to do to go hunting through the guestbook for them. Thanks for understanding.
